Today, Elysium launched Legion, a unique patent analysis tool. As reported by Bloomberg, Legion is designed to enhance and improve collaboration, understanding, and effectiveness within legal teams involved in patent review work.

Legion is a comprehensive patent research and analysis tool that enables productive team-based analysis and helps users understand patents quickly. The interactive features of Legion facilitate collaboration among patent litigators, inventors, researchers, in-house counsel, paralegals, and others. Users can annotate patents with notes, highlight and comment on key text, and organize and rate prior art. Legion also lets a user view a patent’s text alongside visualization features, including an interactive claim tree diagram and a color-coded patent timeline.

Legion is designed and priced with patent researchers and litigators in mind. Legion’s interface is optimized for desktop, tablet, and smartphone use, enabling analysis and research from the office, courtroom, and elsewhere. Designed by computer scientists who work with the legal community on a daily basis, Legion utilizes state-of-the-art security and encryption technology to prevent unauthorized access, and has successfully passed a third-party security audit.

Legion’s pricing aligns with the case lifecycle, with charges incurred only by active users who log into the service. If a case lies dormant for months, Legion holds the data, comments, and analysis at no charge; if the team size increases or decreases, the costs of Legion scale with the case.
